Cornerstone Co-op is a locally-owned co-operative that has served communities across Alberta, Canada, since 1919. The organisation operates a diverse range of retail and service businesses, including grocery stores, home centres, petroleum and agro services, and pharmacy services. Its operations span several towns in east-central Alberta, among them Mannville, Wainwright, St. Paul, Elk Point, Vermilion, Dewberry, and Provost.
As a co-operative, Cornerstone is owned by approximately 30,000 member-owners - local residents who choose to shop with the business. The model is structured to keep profits within the communities it serves, with a stated vision of investing in people and business to share local returns across generations. This community-focused approach underpins the organisation's presence in sectors ranging from grocery and home improvement to agriculture and petroleum.
